I am 55 years old. I have been working in the construction industry for over 35 years. I started working at the bottom as a laborer and worked my way up the ladder. I have worked at the position of Laborer, Carpenters Helper, Carpenter, Lead Carpenter, Assistant Foreman, Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Crew Chief, Superintendent, Project Superintendent, General Superintendent, Site Project Manager and General Contractor.
I learned very early in life that I like responsibility. For me it's the food of life and I have a strong craving for it. I have a great attitude towards my work that has enabled me to be successful as a Project Superintendent. I take great pride in my work. From pre-construction to receiving the C.O., I enjoy the entire process.
In my early years I was fortunate to have worked several years with a self performing General Contractor, Seligman of Florida. While with Seligman I was able to get hands on experience with multiple major trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, concrete placement and finishing, drywall, painting, etc. During the 5 years that I worked for Seligman we built mainly two types of structures, multi-story condominiums and residential housing. Everything we built was Concrete and CMU construction and we built a lot of them. I look back and see the value of the experience and knowledge I received with them.
During the years when timing and my finances allowed me I used the opportunity to increase my knowledge and skills by taking extended education studies related to the construction industry. I have studied Drafting, Blueprint Reading, Estimating, and Construction Building Science. Currently while the economy has slowed down I am taking a Construction Management course. I am 15 credits away from completion. I also have a State of Florida General Contractors License.
I have earned Supervisory experience and knowledge in several fields of construction including but not limited to Industrial, Commercial, Government & Institutional, Medical, Residential including Track Housing and Custom Homes.
